Dr. Michael Schaer gives a presentation to Oak Hammock residents during a visit to the college on Oct. 10.

A group of students received an educational presentation on Oct. 10 — which might not be newsworthy, except that in this case, the group consisted of residents of the Oak Hammock retirement community, who visited the college as part of the Institute for Learning in Retirement.

Approximately 55 students were welcomed by Dean Glen Hoffsis and presentations were given by Drs. Michael Schaer, Dana Zimmel and Amy Stone, as well as by CVM students Nicki Puza and Jared High.

The morning offered a great opportunity to showcase our college as part of the ILR’s “Back to College” series, which also will include visits to other UF colleges, including Pharmacy and Fine Arts.
