The numbers are in: Team VetMed raised a whopping $14,214 this year to support the Kevin Anderson Team VetMed Scholarship fund. More than 40 riders participated in the Horse Farm 100 bicycle ride on Sunday Oct. 23, most after participating in weeks if not months of training.

The riders who generated the most financial support included:

  • UF CVM Class of 2006 – $3,000
  • Team Reeves (Robert & Kristy) – $540
  • Dr. Michelle LeBlanc – $450
  • Ann Snowberger – $310
  • Drs. Alex Gallagher, Chris Sanchez and Dana Zimmel – $300 each

“Added to the previous balance of $75,730.71, the amount just generated brings the total scholarship fund amount to $89,944.71,” said Jo Ann Winn, coordinator of alumni affairs, who helps organize the event each year. “We hope to reach $100K for this drive. We’re almost there.”

Last year, 12 scholarships were given to junior veterinary students to help offset their student loan debt.

This year’s custom designed jersey are available for sale, with all jersey donations going toward the Anderson TVM scholarship fund.
