Family Day at the Dairy Farm event is March 19

The University of Florida’s Dairy Unit will host its third annual Family Day at the Dairy Farm open house event on March 19.

The experience is aimed at allowing attendees to see a working dairy farm, to learn more about milk production and to meet researchers who work to improve Florida’s dairy products.

Guests are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The event will be held rain or shine and is sponsored by the UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences with support from Florida dairy farmers.

Stay abreast of activities by following the Facebook event page here.

Check out the UF CVM’s Dr. Carlos Risco in this 2012 video that was used to promote the event, held during UF’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act, which created the land grant university system.
