Dr. Justin Shmalberg and Stella Pavlides

Dr. Justin Shmalberg, left, is shown with Stella Pavlides, whose dog, Leo, passed away in October. Pavlides came to the UF Small Animal Hospital to collect Leo’s ashes and brought a cake and doughnuts to thank Shmalberg and his team for Leo’s care. A ceremony was also held with representatives of the U.S. War Dog Association, which presented Stella with a medal and plaque honoring Leo for his work representing the American Vitiligo Research Foundation. Dr. Case explains Syndaver technology to Dean's Circle members

Approximately 50 members attended to hear updates from college faculty on several different diseases. Halloweener Derby

Dr. Rowan Milner and veterinary oncology technician Britni King were among the participants in the Halloweener Derby, an event sponsored by the Climb for Cancer Foundation. The event featured a Dachshund-only Derby race, an all-breed costume contest and more as opportunities to raise funds to fight cancer. The UF group raised approximately $1,000 to support the cause.
