A group of veterinarians interested in enhancing their knowledge of eye disease in horses attended “Eye Boot Camp” at UF July 8-11. Sponsored by the American Association of Equine Practitioners , the event was coordinated by UF’s Dr. Caryn Plummer with participation by several other UFCVM ophthalmology specialists and additional faculty members. Through lecture and hands-on learning opportunities, the group learned more about how to recognize, diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the equine eye. (Photo courtesy of Dr. Amanda House)

Tegu

Cash, an 8-year-old black and white Tegu, was referred to the zoological medicine service for examination of a fractured right humerus. A body wrap was applied to secure the limb and Tegu was started on medications. His owners, the Tallant family, say they are grateful for the care Cash received at UF and that he is doing well, although he will likely have a long recovery. (Photo by Sarah Carey)
