Researchers studying devastating disease that inhibits sweating in horses

The UF College of Veterinary Medicine’s equine extension veterinarian, Dr. Sally DeNotta, has teamed up with a researcher from UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences who focuses on equine genetics in hopes of identifying better ways to treat a devastating disease in horses known as equine anhidrosis. There is no cure for the disease, which affects approximately one-tenth of horses that live in Florida. The two describe their collaboration, and why UF’s research into this disease is so important, in this new video.
