  • Information from a blog created by UF’s shelter medicine program with updates on the mysterious respiratory virus affecting dogs was picked up by CNN. Dr. Cynda Crawford from the program also provided interviews with NBC News and Fox35 News/Orlando and was referenced in an update that aired on North Carolina’s WITN.com.
  • A story about a dog from Alaska treated at UF for bladder cancer was covered in a video by Fox35 News/Orlando and subsequently picked up by Yahoo News, the Daily Telegraph (Australia) and elsewhere.
  • A story announcing strategic funding for key initiatives, including a new data warehouse/veterinary learning health care system at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine, was covered in the Gainesville Sun, Veterinary Practice News, Mainstreet Daily News  and the Canine Chronicle.
  • The story of an explosives detection K9 who has recovered from alligator attack thanks to treatment at UF’s Small Animal Hospital was covered by Fox35 News/Orlando.
  • An article quoting Dr. Amy Stone on the topic of why dog paws can smell like corn chips appeared in Newsweek.
  • A story highlighting the discovery by Dr. Aria Eshraghi and his team of a new antibiotic that can be used to protect against disease caused by the deadly bacteria known as Francisella was covered in the Mainstreet Daily News. 
  • A story about Operation Catnip’s efforts to control the community cat population and a recent clinic during which 150 cats were sterilized appeared on WUFT.org.
