College administrator chairs academic affairs committee for national group
Dr. Amanda House, associate dean for academic and student affairs at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine, recently became chair of the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges’ Academic Affairs Committee, assuming her new role this past summer.
As chair, she will lead academic programming discussions among veterinary colleges across the country. Her duties will include organizing key meetings, including the one held annually at the AAVMC’s annual conference, planning the committee’s pre-conference event, hosting weekly forums on a rotating basis and addressing the committee’s community needs in a variety of ways, including through working groups, identification of resources, and collaboration with others to bring about change.
House was named to her associate dean position at UF in 2021 after fulfilling the role on an interim basis for one year. She has been a member of the college’s faculty since 2007.
