UF International Center honors faculty member, students

Several graduate students from the UF College of Veterinary Medicine and one faculty member were recognized for their achievements during the UF International Center’s annual award ceremony, held Nov. 19 at the J. Wayne Reitz Union.

Dr. Federico Vilaplana Grosso was honored as the college’s nominee for the International Educator Award in the category of Junior Faculty.

Three graduate students from the college’s departments of Comparative, Diagnostic and Population Medicine and Infectious Diseases and Immunology were honored with Certificates of Outstanding Merit for their academic achievements. These students, all of whom are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees, included Chaitanya Gottapu and Roshen Neelawala of CDPM and Na Sun of IDI.

Gottapu and Neelawala are mentored by Dr. Subhashinie Kariyawasam. Sun is mentored by Dr. Liang Zhou.
