Dr. Logan Scheuermann, an assistant professor of veterinary orthopaedic surgery at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and a board-certified small animal surgeon, has received the 2025 American Association of Veterinary Clinicians’ Resident Award.

“This remarkable achievement highlights Dr. Scheuermann’s exceptional clinical skills, research accomplishments and dedication to veterinary medicine,” said Dr. Charles Vite, chair of the college’s Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences.

The AAVC Resident Award recognizes two outstanding residents nationwide who have made significant contributions to the field of veterinary medicine. The award is given in acknowledgement of not only clinical work, but also outstanding productivity in research and teaching accomplishments.

“Dr. Scheuermann’s achievement in winning this award reflects hard work, commitment and passion for providing the best care possible to our patients,” Vite added.

Scheuermann received his D.V.M. from The Ohio State University, then completed a master’s degree from UF, along with a residency in small animal surgery in July 2024. He received a faculty appointment later that year. He becomes the eighth UF small animal surgery resident to garner the prestigious award.
