Around the College
Spring has sprung, and summer is ready to spring! Here are a few photos from college goings-on this past month. The sophomore professional coating ceremony is May 11 and commencement is “in the air” as we prepare to say goodbye to members of the Class of 2012. Commencement exercises will take place at 2 p.m. on May 26 at the UF Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Dr. Michael Schaer will deliver the keynote address.
Dana Hill, host of Animal Airwaves-Live, and Dean Glen Hoffsis are shown April 21 at the WUFT-FM studio in Weimer Hall. Dean Hoffsis was the guest on the show that day and provided a global view of the veterinary medical profession.
Rikki Schwarz, left, a freshman UF veterinary student and a member of Project Heal, is shown with a visitor who brought his dog for a bath at the Project Heal dog wash, held April 28. In the background is the LifeSouth Bloodmobile, which sponsored the event along with Dechra Veterinary Products. Students raised $652 to benefit Project Heal, an interdisciplinary group that provides veterinary support to low-income Ecuadorians.
