Around the college
Dean Jim Lloyd, right, is shown with Richard Gonzmart on Nov. 4 during the 15th annual “Richard’s Run for Life” race in Ybor City to raise funds for cancer research. Gonzmart, a longtime client of the UF Small Animal Hospital and supporter of the college, is president of the Columbia Restaurant Group, the flagship of which is Florida’s iconic Columbia Restaurant, founded in 1905 by Gonzmart’s great-grandfather in Ybor City.
Dr. Nancy Denslow accepts the prestigious Founder’s Award during the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s annual meeting in November. The award is the highest given by the group and is presented annually to an individual with an outstanding career in the environmental sciences. Denslow, a professor in the college’s department of physiological sciences, is only the fourth woman to receive the award since it began being issued in 1980. (Photo courtesy of Karla Johanning)
